Masterclass and Opera Summer Course

Masterclass “Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music” and Opera Summer Course

Two intensive summer programs on vocal technique and interpretation for classical singers with Adelisa Tabiadon and Loris Peverada

Since 2013, “Le Muse e le Dolomiti” organise a Summer Masterclass for classical singers: “Masterclass Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music”. The program offers the opportunity to study with two artists of international fame: Adelisa Tabiadon and Loris Peverada. The curricula of both “Maestri” can be found below.

The twelfth edition of our Masterclass, Summer 2024, has a great novelty in score!

Alongside the usual “Masterclass Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music”, for the very first time, selected students will be able to participate in an Opera Summer Course, bringing Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” on stage guided by the same Maestri.

Both study programs represent a “full immersion” with fabulous professionals, in one of the most beautiful places in the world!

Enrolment for our 2024 Summer programs is now open! We are accepting candidacies until the 30th of May 2024. Please find all details and the enrolment form below.

Falcade – Italy – Dolomites
14-25 July 2024

Masterclass “Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music”

Twelve days, intensively dedicated to classical singing. The masterclass is open to students of all ages (15+) and of all levels who desire to attempt or are already developing a professional career. Lessons focus both on vocal technique and on interpretation, according to the student’s needs and level.

Students selected by the Maestri and considered ready will be able to perform in the concert “Per il Papa” on the 21st of July 2024. This concert, dedicated to Pope John Paul I, who was born in the dolomitic valley where the Masterclass is organised, will take place in the nearby monumental church “San Simon”. This small and beautiful church, which hosts frescoes of the 15th century, is one of the finest artistic treasures in the Veneto Region.

The “Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music” program consists of a regular course for professionals and students of advanced level, and an “entry level” course.

On the first day of the Masterclass, all students will study with Adelisa Tabiadon. From 15 until 21 July, both Adelisa and Loris will be present in every lesson. During the last four days of the Masterclass, there will be another pianist working with Adelisa.

All students of the regular course will have 10 guaranteed lessons of about 45 minutes each. Spoken languages: Italian and English. Lessons will focus on opera repertoire mainly. Students are welcome, however, to propose any sacred and chamber music repertoire they might want to work on.

The organisation may decide to activate an “entry level” course, if enrolments give occasion to do this, with a program measured to the capacities of the student. For example: a vocal technique session with the assistent teacher of the Masterclass, Oda Zoe Hochscheid (for more information about Oda, please visit her website by clicking here) during the morning and a shorter repertoire lesson with Adelisa and Loris in the afternoon.

The choice of students and their division in either regular or entry level program will be based on your curriculum and audio / video material eventually requested. Decision lies with the teachers and organisation of the Masterclass; no correspondence can be entered into. The daily timetable of the Masterclass is decided and communicated day by day.

Opera Summer Course “Gianni Schicchi”

The twelfth edition of our Masterclass has a great novelty in score: selected students will be able to take part in a staged performance of Giacomo Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi” on the 25th of July. We are accepting candidacies for all opera parts BUT the role of Schicchi.

The performance of the opera will take place in the Teatro Navalge in the nearby small town of Moena. The production is staged and the singers will be accompanied on grand piano by Loris Peverada. The stage director will be Mirko Corradini and the conductor Claudio Vadagnini, both artists of the partnering association “Aurona”. For more information and curricula, please visit Aurona’s website by clicking here (italian language only).

All students taking part in this Opera Course may be selected to sing in the sacred concert “Per il Papa” on the 21st of July along with the students participating in the “Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music” program.

The assessment of candidates and the division of selected students in either the “Opera, the Art Song and Sacred Music” program or the “Opera Summer Course” program lies with the teachers and organisation. It is however possible to indicate your preference in the enrolment form below.
